absolutely. you DON'T need to upload any music at all. that is just a "plus" you can add, but it's not mandatory or whatever.

I've seen in the demo that you can add tags to an album. Is there also an option to add tags to a song?

The database I want to set up would need a method to search for songs that have a certain atmosphere e.g. romantic or fast paced. Since this can vary dramatically between the different songs of an album. I would need this feature.

If it isn't implemented could you estimate how hard it would be to implement it? I have quite some experience in programming with php and mysql.

no, there's no tags for songs... but this can be added for you as custom developmetn work if you want.

it's great that you have knowledge in php/mysql, but the truth is that in this case you need knowledge in Joomla programming (which is based on php/mysql, yes, but it has a very peculiar structure)

so, if you have knowledge in joomla programming, great! but otherwise I don't think you'll be able to do this by yourself... :S
