download after comment only

Hello,

Couple of questions:

1. Can we make the download of a track available only after a user has posted a review via comment?
2. Can JComments be used instead of JomComment?

This is achieved here (http://www.maxipromotion.com) although it is using Wordpress and a custom script. I have spoken to them about this and gotten their list of components that they have used to make their site work. I assume since the comments are native to Worpress, it wasn't hard.

In addition, I am considering Drupal as well. Comments and add-ons are easy and ACL control isn't limited like Joomla.

Bottom line is that Joomla is very easy for me but since comments aren't native, I wonder if this is functionality is feasible.

hello!

1 - not out of the box... you would need some customization for this.
2 - not officially, but if you look around in the forum, there's a user who posted a plugin (o code modification) to make JCOmments usable as well. it works great.

Hi Vinchenzo,
would you be so kind as to tell me, what plugins they used for Wordpress? - and- if you have any of these, could you please send them to me or just link them for me? I found this very interesting as i have been looking for just the same for ages and couldn't get hold of anything like that.

- Germi, I would be very happy, if you also could provide a link for that Joomla plugin... or a file sent to me, if you don't mind...

read above! the plugin I was talking about is for using JomCommnets! I never said nothing about download after comment plugin! read well!!

if you want a function to download after comment you need custom work... it's not a big job, but you'd definitely need some code modifications...

Thanks Germi for your timely response.

I would like test this out to see if it is a feasible option for this project. I would also like to know if this works with Community ACL from corePHP. I will need a subscription based model for restricted access to downloads so I also need to purchase that component. I was wondering if you have a 30-day trial offer like JomSocial. It would save me a lot since I am testing this on Drupal, Wordpress and Joomla to see which is the most user friendly and granular.

Could you provide a link to the JComments thread you mentioned if you happen to have that as well?

would you mind telling me how they have done it at maxipromotion? Could you please extend me their script, if you don't mind? I myself am trying to figure out a way which seems to need certain things you need as well. actually I think that we might have some equal interest in this issue and we could team up in the development....

They had someone write a custom script for this to work with there WP-DB manager. I'm trying NOT to use wordpress, but will post up and let you now how my sandbox for WP goes.

Working on Drupal and Joomla as well. Whichever is determined to be the most cost-effective and user-friendly will be chosen for the client.
