Hi Germi,

I've been having great fun using MC in a Joomla! 1.5 environment. I was waiting until my MC license came up for renewal before moving to Joomla! 3.0.

Testing/researching some of my other 1.5 extensions, it seems there's no "easy" migration and 1.5/3.x don't seem to co-exist well on the same windows 7 machine using XAMPP, so it's a case of manually transferring data - which is ok.

Appreciate your advice on the best strategy to move from MC on 1.5 to MC on 3.0 and which license/cost I need to move to when my existing license expires.

Great product - looking forward to seeing the new features you're introducing in the new version!

    hello!

    well, the migration of the data has to be pretty "manual", as you very well said. but it's not difficult: basically you need to make a backup of all the DB tables named __muscol_ and import them into the new installation. then just perform a normal installation of music collection for joomla 3.0 and you will be good to go. just re-adjust the settings, set up your modules and your menus...

    about the liscense: well, your liscense is about to expire. you can upgrade the current one for 30eur, but that would not extend your subscription period (which will still expire on june 26). so, basically, the best thing you can do is to simply purchase a new liscense on our store, this time for joomla 3.x
