Songs tab: the page is blank

0
Anytime I try to view a list of songs, the page is blank. This happens when I view an artist and click on the tab labeled: Songs(#_of_songs).

This also happens when I search songs, e.g. click the "search songs" button; a blank page appears.

Any suggestions?

John

    hello John!

hmmm.. did you modify any of the files (this two sections you describe are the two sections we talked about yesterday, and I pointed you a couple of files.. remember? so maybe you did some modification on them?)

in any case, if you turn error reporting ON in Joomla Configuration (on the backend) you will be able to see if an ERROR is shown in this page, which will probably point you to the origin of the problem...! you know what I mean?

    Hi Germi,

I think I need a lesson in searching the forums, and how to post a question. I tried to reply to your answer, but clicked on "Report to Moderator" instead of "Reply."

Let me try to reconstruct what I said:
I have not yet edited any PHP files. This problem is on a Linux server that I plan to use for learning PHP; our development server is a Windows 7 box.

I have successfully enabled error reporting (simple) from the backend. here is the message I now get when I click on Songs or search songs:

Fatal error: Class 'JParameter' not found in /var/www/joomla/plugins/muscolplayers/jwplayer/jwplayer.php on line 23

This is beyond my current knowledge of PHP.

I just installed Muscol v2.3 and the System plugin, replacing Muscol v2.2; JW player was not replaced.

    Thanks

    John

    hello John,

well, the problem you describe, "JParameter not found", is a problem caused when trying to use a plugin for Joomla 1.5 on a 2.5 installation.

this may happen if you have downloaded a file (in this case, the JWplayer plugin installable) from the DOWNLOADS area, instead of the YOUR ORDERS area.

this is not your fault. we are workign on merging these two areas together.

from now on, please download all the files from YOUR ORDERS. you must install the newest version of JWPlayer, which you will find there.

if you have any issues just let me know

    Germi
