Hello all,
i got some questions before i want to buy this awesome looking program. i first will explaine the idea of the site we are running.we re running a karaoke website basicly ppl can sing at our website and ther songs will recorded on a different server. we like the idea very much that we can insert the lyrics and stored in a database. this external server will generate a XSPF file to set the name of the artist date and time and the location where it is.
here are my questions:
A) can i insert in the player part also a recorder part ?
B) will it accept the XSPF file normaly a XSPF file is the same as the XML file right ?
C)the recorder part is situated to a external server so i need to get a connection to that server to load the
D) would i be able to insert the output file directly to the server.
E) can i also include other media files like avi, midi etc etc
regards Wilco

0A) sorry,I dont understand this question
B ) well, it's kind of surprising for me that you ask this. let me explain: we are about to publish the new version of the component (1.5), wich also features a new player and a brand new system of playlists, and here is the point: we use XSPF format to manage the playlists that feed the player. so the answer is YES, version 1.5 works plenty with XSPF format. but anyway, let me ask you: how did you planned to use the XSPF files? just for your information: on the next version, ALBUMS and also PLAYLISTS (wich dont exist on current version) can be readed as XSPF feed files, so players can read it or even so they can be exported or susbscribed as any other XML (like RSS or ATOM) format.
C) the player can load the songs from en external server, if that's what you're asking. also, a song played by the player can in fact be an external playlist in XSPF format, too
D) again, I think I dont understand this question. sorrytry to be more specific! if it helps you: playable files (being mp3, acc, videos or even playlists) can be sotred on your site or on an external server. there's support for both cases
E) mm... honestly, I dont know right now. the future player will be based on the JW Player. see this page to know the formats supported by the player: http://developer.longtailvideo.com/trac/wiki/flashformats
you can have mp3, aac, mp4 (flv), youtube videos or even XSPF playlists
I hope I helped someway.
remember: all you ask for is coming on next version, to be released very soonas a registered user, you'll receive an e-mail when the version is ready
best,
Germi
