I have been watching these forums closely as I am strongly considering purchasing this product. There are still a few features that are missing for what I am needing. A lot of the features I have noticed you said you are considering adding to the next release which looks like you stated for some time in January. I am curious if you could give us some insight as to what updates, enhancements, or features you are planning to include in this next release?

Wow, sounds impressive. I would love to see the id3 tag reading capability as well as the auto import features. Guess I better start learning joomla so I have some sort of competency. Does one need to have a strong understanding of joomla to use your software, or is the install and usage of it fairly straight forward?

I have a default joomla install on my test system so far, but have yet to install any mods or play around with the configuration.

you dont need strong understanding of Joomla, but I won't lie to you, it's always better to have SOME knowledge!! :)

just a basic, basic, basic knowledge should be enough. just for understanding what some parameters are for.

but besides of that, the truth is that you shouldn't have much joomla knowledge... MC (as many other component) is designed so everyone can use it, he only needs how to access joomla backend and installing components ! ;)

It's a strong feature i hope they make it very secure and keep updating it, i know it's going to be a high selling point for Music Collection when it come out..
I bought it but really have no use for it right now, i thought it did have that feature already but if it's coming soon, im holding by breath till then..
I hope they're no delays, i hate to be paying for hosting and got a dead site.

i await the version of music collection with auto add since i have a lot of songs to upload and to simply do it one by one would kill me. I am a previous user of Mbox = Class! :)

I keep my website from moving to joomla 1.5 simply because of Mbox.

Once music Collection next version comes out i will be there with my paypal.

The new release includes the option to use MooTools (with the option to skip reloading the library I hope) instead of JQuery - Correct?

    Thanks,

@ germi - Can hardly wait for the new version...

What about the possibility of attributing an album to several artists, so that it will appear on each artist album list! Will there be a separation/header (CD1-Title CD2-Title) for songs/tracks of double CDs?

Keep up the good work :)

no multiple artists yet. maybe on 2.1

2.0 still sheduled for about a week or so.

@jakorsme: JQuery is only used on FEATURED ALBUMS module. this is independant from music collection (I mean, does not affect the core code). so, you are talking in fact of a MODULE upgrade to run under mootools, not jquery. this will come soon, but not along with version 2.0 (I mean, this specific module will be upgraded later. current module will still work on 2.0)

That's not real good for us unfortunately.
I made some client commitments based on your following post (post #3612). Now they are excited about JMS. And for right or wrong, they view carousel as a critical part of JMS and in their decision.

    Re:Problem with carousel 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 20 Karma+ Karma-
you can use it, just can't use the module... is not the same!

I'm preparing a MooTools version to be launched along with MC 2.0

meanwhile I'm studying the noConflict() option

actually, the problem I think is not the inclusion of noConflict() function.

actually, JQuery and Mootools should be compatible. is any other module or component loading JQuery library on your system? if this is the case, this could be the cause for the malfunction...

anyway, did you tryed the noconflict? read this:

I haven't tried it yet actually.
I brought it up on their old site (which is a jquery site) and it worked fine. I am bringing up their new site which is all Mootools. I am aware of some issues on many Joomla extensions between jquery and mootools. Your forum indicated that the issues existed for your component also. When the client asked me if the new site (using mootools) would still support JMS, based on your post that you were launching it with mootools mid-february, I said yes.

I will try to bring it up, but problem with injecting jquery into the mix on the new mootools based site, is that although you're extension may work, its use of jquery may break some mootools addon in the future and bite me in that way.

    Thanks,
    John
