this error doesn't look Music Collection's... there's no column field on MC called "idx_client_id_parent_id_alias_language"
do you know where this may come from? another extension?

Any update on this? MC still is not appearing in the components menu either.

not really, the problem must have been an error on installation and now the component doesn't show on the menu.
to solve this, the only way is to go into the database (the menus table) and manually add the entry for the music collection on the menu in the backend.

SInce purchase of the new version, I have had problems with the album art images not displaying correctly. Also music player no longer works.
I was advised by the hosts to uninstall the components and reinstall, and yet again the components do not appear in components menu.

well, it's not about recompiling.. the music collection was simply not installed.

I proceeded to install it. I would need to create a main menu item in your page to point to it.

incorrect, it is installed - but as before, it has not appeared under the components menu. Check above and you see that you added it manually previosuly.

look at extensions, manage - the component is installed - just not appearing in component menu. Same errror as before. Please read your notes above.

incorrect, both myself and the host were able to see it installed but not visible. Sorry, we have screenshots with time stamp to prove it. It was incorrectly installed before. Anyway, we now need to solve these blurred images errors once and for all.

I just logged to your website, 20 min ago. I went to administrator/option=com_muscol, and it showed the message "this component is not installed". that's it. I'm not making that up!
I then installed it, and now it's there.

why on earth would I make that up?

songs point to your songs folder like this: /songs/Slingshot Dragster - Bite The Bullet/Slingshot Dragster - Bite The Bullet - 01 Fuckin' Fuckin' Fuckin'.mp3 (for example)

HOWEVER, if you look on the FTP, the folder /songs/Slingshot Dragster - Bite The Bullet/ exists, but it's EMPTY.

can you check this?

Anyway, I am right. The component was incorrectly installed, not throughm y repeated attempts to get it installed.

I have already restored my original menu. The site would not load so i unpublished it.

The file is here - xxx/Slingshot%20Dragster%20-%20Bite%20The%20Bullet/Slingshot%20Dragster%20-%20Bite%20The%20Bullet%20-%2001%20Fuckin'%20Fuckin'%20Fuckin'.mp3

File always has and always will be there-, perhaps some older songs were deleted, and new songs were imported by discogs.
