just on the backend, go to music collection, create a new album, and when you add songs, you can upload music!

ADVICE: Uploading too many files simultaneously can exhaust your server uploading limits and cause undesired behavior.
    upload_max_filesize defined in php.ini 32M

this is on the song upload page for the album

well then you cannot upload songs bigger than 32M !! that's why it is crashing.

you need to allow bigger file uploads (in your php.ini settings), otherwise your system won't allow file uploads bigger than 32M...!

hmmm... what is the value of post_max_size ?
    what is the max_execution_time?

can you count how much it takes to time out (just to see if it's the max exec time)

This is what my server admin says:

The Joomla component is accurate, Plesk shows that because it's reading the parent server config. The timeout is a separate parameter, which I cannot increase due to problems with denial of service attacks - the longer the timeout the simpler it is for an attacker to exhaust our server resources.

If your Internet connection's upload speed cannot upload the file before the timeout hits, then there's nothing that can be done about this, except simply switch to SFTP for uploading larger files.

that makes sense. if you are uploading big files then you better upload them using your FTP, and then just scan them or type the filename into the new song. actually this is the easiest way!

do you know what I mean?
