Hello,

I'm interested in this product however I have some questions, appreciate if you can answer them

Is that possible to use external files on Music Collection?
Currently on my site all the music files (except their cover images) are on external servers accessible via a link like music.mydomain.com/files

Does this product have any import/export function to import music database? (if not, I can manually import them by writing a custom script however will Music Collection recognise the new entries assuming they are all in right place/right format in database [wondering if some sort of re-indexing/re-counting is required])

Does this product have any caching functionality to reduce server resource usage?

Possible to add lyrics to each song?

Thanks for your time
Nick

    hello Nick,

external files: yes (some servers require a crossdomain.xml file to allow streaming from another server, but thats all)

import/export: no, it does not. of course you can write your own script. I have written many myself for people that asked for it on our Custom Service area (see menu item above). but, of course, you have to know PHP, MySQL, and most important understand the structure of Music Collection database tables

    no caching yet

lyrics->yes, of course (take a look at our demo site! click on some song to see its lyrics (not all have lyrics, I dont have the time to fill them all ;) )

    cheers,
    Germi

    Thanks for quick response

Are you planning on including cache functionality in near future?

    cheers

I wasn't planning it, but I can study the possibility of including it on a future version.
