Disable Artist

0
Hello...

After too many hours of no sleep, I'm sure I just cannot find a thread resolution or the setting within MC...How does one "Disable" or "Unpublish" artists, albums or songs. This standard option does not show on the "Joomla!" interface.

Thanks,
Christoph

    Hello FunkyDream...

Thanks for your response. Let's hope this not the case. This is a basic Joomla! platform toggle, outside of Edit. However, I could not see a button while in edit mode, either. This switch has to be available for Artists, Albums and Songs.

Also, an Artist should be able to enable or make visible an Album or song by a future date. like Joomla! Articles or other third party Plugins - although not critical.

    Best,
    Christoph

    Christoph,

funkydream is right, this is not implemented (yet). it's actually not a "default" joomla toggle, although I agree with you that this is something that should be included.

we will include this on next version of MC... I hope it's not a problem meanwhile for you... :S is it?

    Hello Germi...

Ouch...Well, kind of. I am introducing the website and marketing to Gold and Platinum artists (Garth Brooks, Lionel Richie, Barbara Streisand, Norah Jones, etc., etc.) and am filling in these Artists, Albums and Songs for show and tell.

This is extensive work, and I do not want to "Delete" them if they don't come on board the project, once they are in the system.

    Any alternative ideas...?

    Thanks,
    Christoph

    I understand... :S

there is really no alternative that doesn't involve code change (and not small...)
basically the "problem" is that, besides of adding the publish/unpublish feature, all the mysql queries need to be changed to include that filter... so it's really not something I recommend you doing by yourself (unless you are good at MySQL and you know what you're doing...!)

    Hello Germi...

Yes, that's out of my skill level. Is there a protected timetable for this capability...?

    Thanks...

Sorry, I meant "projected." If within 30-45 days, that would be more than ideal...Can this become a "paid for" customization request, but then I would be financing this for all MC members.

    Thanks...

well, as a "paid for" customization it could be done much earlier of course. you wouldn't be "financing" for all MC members, but it's true that, if as expeceted, we end up adding this into the standard package, we would maybe use some of the code made specially for you... I understand your concerns.

the thing is I cannot garantee at all this would be publicly included within 30 days, or 45days... or more! because we don't know. we are also working on adding other things and some may come later... can't tell for sure.. :)

if you want to discuss this further privately, please write me at joomlamusicsolutions@gmail.com :)
