i will start with the first i installed the community pack correctly folders were created etc. go to ms component and it says- ALERT! You have to SAVE the PARAMETERS before continuing to set up basic configuration. Refresh this page when you are done. - im assuming when you click parameters it is suppose to take you there it dosent just to my joomla control panel.

i created the homepage under this link http://hiphoparchived.com/index.php?option=com_muscol&view=artists&layout=detailed

nothing seems to appear i have all modules turned on and in position.

another error:
when i click ratings under the component options it takes me to a page and provides this error.
Fatal error: Call to a member function getUserStateFromRequest() on a non-object in /home/hipho130/public_html/administrator/components/com_muscol/models/ratings.php on line 28

any insight i thought this was going to be easy but it seems complicated mabe its just been a long day but i cannot get it working thanks!

    hello!

all the errors you are describing are errors that occur when you try to install the package for Joomla 1.5 on Joomla 1.6 or 1.7...

are you? your version is for Joomla 1.5, that is the package you purchased!

are you trying to install this on Joomla 1.7???

I just had the same problem, I am upgrading my site from 1.5 to 1.7, thought everything would be okay because MusCol is compatible with 1.7. Can't believe you charge for the different versions. This is the only component I have ever experienced this with.

    what?? I don't do that!!!!!
we have different versions for new customers so they can choose, but not for you! you are and old customer and have access to ALL of them!!!

haven't you seen your subscription? look at it! it's called:

    Music Collection Community Standard - Joomla 1.5, 1.6 & 1.7 - 1 YEAR

as you can see you have access to ALL versions (1.5 AND 1.6 & 1.7)

:) please check it better the next time before saying something that isn't true! ;) ;)

So, I bought version 1.5 of Music Collection - and as I recall there only was one version of the component at that point. The project I bought the component for was put on the shelf for a couple of years but has recently been put back on. We all know about the changes in Joomla since then and I see that there has been likewise development for MC - my question:

One of the reasons that convinced me to buy MC in the first place was the promise that future upgrades were included in my initial purchase. Now I come back and find all these tiers of versions and nothing that my login allows me to download. What's up and how do I get to what I need?

nothing's up! your account is still active and working! :)
plus, you have access to all versions (for Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 2.5!)

just go to YOUR ORDERS menu at the right, you can download everything in there! :)

if there's any problem just let me know!

It took me a long time to find that.

If you get this sort of question a lot, you might want to make this information a bit easier to find. Even a big, persistent link to an explanatory page with something like "Already own MC and need to upgrade?" would probably go a long way for customers who don't spend a lot of time on the site and for whom it wouldn't be immediately apparent.

    Thanks

    you're right :)

actually no, we don't get this sort of question a lot but your suggestion is probably a very good idea, just to avoid confusions! :)

    will do it

    thanks a lot! :)

I would suggest removing the old Downloads tab as it is outdated. Then either just keep the "Your orders" link where it is, or move it up in place of the old Downloads tab.

I also show your Demos tab now on the second link, below the menu. Looks kind of out of place.

Another consideration could be to combine Support and Features tabs to single tab called Documents as they somewhat serve the same purpose and would make more sense to have them all in one place for easier viewing.

    Just a few ideas. Thanks.

Looks good now. Not sure what had changed previously, but for a few days the Demos tab didn't fit on the same line and was moved down to the next line and all the way to the left below Home. Was in both firefox 10 and ie9
