Activating modules in album and song areas

0
Hi,

I am sorry if this issue was already commented in this forum. I performed a search and I didn't find anyhting matching my problems.

I am using MC with Jomsocial. I have a menu and some modules active in sidebar b position (i'm using Gantry template). What happens is that I have these modules and the menu bar active in the Band, Album and Song areas when I access the MC as a guest. When I'am registered and I access via jomsocial menu bar these modules simply disapear from these areas. But if I'm registered and I access via the other menu bar I created, the modules are active...

Any idea why?

I am a rookie joomla user. I may be missing something pretty obvious...

Thanks for your help!

probably it's just a ITEMID config missing.

1 - go to your menu manager and locate your "main" menu item poiting to MUSIC COLLECTION. look what is the ID of that menu item (on the right). lets supose it's 52 (just for this example)
2- go to Music Collection parameters, and search the parameter DEFAULT ITEMID. then write 52 in it.

2 - on ALL your Music Collection MODULES, there is also this parameter, DEFAULT ITEMID. write 52 in all of them

3 - check if the problem is gone

    4 - post the results here :)

    Hi,

First of all thanks a lot for your quick reply! :)

I believe we did what you suggested but the problem is still there.

The problem I guess is that we have 2 menu accesses to Music Collection. We created a menu to insert in our Jomsocial menu bar by using a pluggin from where we can access MC. And we have another menu we use in our articles area for example, from where we can also access Music Collection. The one without the modules is the one inserted in the Jomsocial bar. We have the modules in our MC homepage, but then they disapear in the Band, Album and Song areas. :(

    Hi again,

Maybe I need to explain better my problem.

I am creating a web site with Music Collection and Jomsocial, and also SuperEvents. It's a website and social network about music, and I want all of these extensions to be integrated. I have 2 main menus with accesses to all areas:

    1- The menu present on the news, events and music collection areas to give access to all areas;

    2- The Jomsocial menu you have access only when browsing through your social areas, and where I integrated menu items to give access to events, news and music collection. You only have access to this menu when registered;

I inserted some modules (some of them not MC modules) in sidebar b position (Gantry template) which are common to superevents and MC pages.

What happens is that when I'm registered and I access Music Collection through the regular menu I created all modules appear correctly in that position in all MC pages.
But when I access throught the Jomsocial toolbar I only get the modules in the first page I access to search for an artist ou album. When I enter and artist, and then an album or a song, I get no modules at all.

Also, when I access for example albuns from the Top Rated MC module I am getting no modules in the album page.

Any idea why and how to fix it?

    Thanks a lot!

PS - We did what you suggested before. No result...

    hello,

probably I'm just missing something, but I'm SURE that is still just a ITEMID problem. probably the itemid needs to be written in more config parameters.

for that, I need to SEE it with my eyes. probably, if I see it, I'll see what the problem is right away.

do you think you can send me a link AND, of course, access to the registered area?

    Hi,

Sorry for taking so long replying, but we had some problems updating jomsocial and all our focus was set on that.

Do you want access to our backend or to our website with a registered user?

If it is just to our website here it is:

    username: germi
    password: musiccollection2011

    URL: www.crowdmusik.com

If it is backend access please send a contact to where I can send it so it doesn't get public.

    Thanks,
