Where to Start?

A nice install troubleshooting readme might help.

I just added all the zips and see the mods in my newly installed joomla admin mod manager.

I get a:
500 - Layout "" not found

You may not be able to visit this page because[messages]....when I click on the Artist name link.

I also cannot get the music to play on the player with the mods all published and when its up, file formats not found. And not even sure about the playlists setups as I see no indication of where to begin.

Also, where should I be uploading the music files too? The path ex. in the Album set up suggest that the dir's set up in install are usless but that can't be the case which my be the key to all this, I just can't figure it out.

I've seen this system on other sites run well so I know it works but maybe not right out of the box. Any ideas on where to begin?

    well I really didnt understand half of your issues ;)

    first of all, WHEN do you get this layout "" not found erro?

    the STARTING point of MC should be a menu item pointing to MUSIC COLLECTION -> Artists / Detailed. that should be your music homepage

    for the songs, just create an album, and on the SONGS tab you'll see how you can easily add new songs. just use the UPLOADER for the files !! ( you DONT have to worry about the filepath...)

    and first of all ans most impotatnt... did you checked up the PARAMETERS and SAVED them??? (have you read the installation instructions?)

    I read the installations a few times and I saw the song tab and it looks like they are there listed with the path on the server, however no joy. And the media player on the front end says: "No Valid Filetypes found in this playlist" which prompted me to ask where the playlist feature was.

    I also tried to upload the songs in the 'song' tab and it just uploaded them to the root dir on the server. I used the 'scan a folder' feature on the album manager's initial page to search the directory on the server which it found the mp3's there and had that whole path displayed in the 'songs' tab listings as opposed to uploading them there in the 'songs' tab listing. But either way they were listed as a saved file path on the 'songs' tab listing.

    Is there a way to zip the folders/albums in? or if they are already on the server, how can i use that directory to play some music?

    And the error was:
