player undefined and album list shows on homepage

I downloaded the Music Collection Professional 2.0.0 for Joomla! 1.5.x and followed the install procedures. Seemed to go right, untill i tried to create a "featured albums" module as you display on the demo.

"album_player undefined".
in the jwplayer.php file there is still a reference to a player path = .... "plugins/muscolplayers/keithplayer/..." but i don't discover a path to .../keithplayer/.. and the support page doesn't mention to create some. changing it to .../jwplayer/.. doesn't make any sense. it just doesn't want to play!

other problem is that the albums show in a specific module, but when click on an album image, the playlist is shown in the home-page and not on the same page as the caroussel. i want it on the same page or a new page with navigation

I thought i followed all instructions, but what am i doing wrong?????????

can you post a link? (for the first problem)

the second problem is easy to solve: you have to use the ITEMID PARAMETER on the module to tell ti what Itemid to point to (when its empty, joomla takes the homepage as the default itemid, that's why it brings you there)

I'm pretty sure the error is being caused by that FLASH ROTATING module you have... try to disable it and check again

about the warnings: probably your featured albums module is set on FEATURED mode, but you dont have specified any album ID !

Yes, the player is working with the rotator disabled, but now i'm quite confused i cannot use this module together with the rotator.
is there no solution for this?

And i still got the random albums part not working - working mode was not featured but random -
is there a more detailed description how to install this properly - the support page helps with all other parts, but is not explaining how to define the random/featured albums part (at least not for a "less experienced" person)

Allright, i've removed the featured/random album slider and now i only use the album list. Guess what; the player is working, but the sound is awful - like a 78 rpm record - and the player doesn't show correct.

If I will use this extension properly, what can i do??????????
I'm a bit afraid i paid for something that shows great but doesn't work as promised.

I REALLY NEED SOME HELP!

it does work..

about the song not playing good: that's not a MC thing... I mean, probably the song is badly encoded or similar

suggestion: can you please check the BIT RATE of the song? I read in JW Player official page that some enconding rates can cause undesired behavior. can you post a link please?

play the song on iTunes and tell me if it plays good. then tell me its bit rate (you can find this on the song detailed info)

does it plays bad ALL the songs?

it was the bitrage!

but...i had to change of provider and now new problems disappear:
- the add to playlist option show everywhere while all options are not to allow this
- the player doesn't work where it shows
- the download option doesn't show and on the old site didn't work - i don't see the option on the screen
- the upload option doesn't work - i partly solved it by uploading the images for albums straight to the server, but it isn't correct functioning
- i got everywhere the option to add songs to playlists while all options are set no not allowed

is music collection compatible with templates of rockettheme??? - i am using refraction for joomla 1.5

i really need to solve these problems very soon!

hello

have you checked ALL the parameters? I mean, both the COMPONENT WIDE params (on MC backend)

AND ALSO the MENU PARAMETERS!!! on your menu manager, go to the menu item pointing to MC, and there the parameters can also be edited. the values there have to be the right ones, too!!!

Some parameters were not equal. it solved some things, but the songs added to an album are not uploaded (images neither) to the server - the songs library stays empty and so the player still isn't playing...

the problem is that the /songs folder is empty...

you big is the file? have you tried uploading it through FTP, just to test? have you tried to re-upload that song? (maybe the upload wasnt ok for the different parameters... you should try again)
