yes, absolutely.
just download the language file (on the downloads area), and search for:

ALBUM=Album

and change it for

ALBUM=Artist

could albums in general be removed? I am just doing artists and songs

as long as i know there is only browse option in add songs tab, which is for uplaoding songs from hard disk...

also i want to ask is there any way to change the title "song" to some thing else? i am working on religious website and i have to upload religious poetry or what ever you call, so the title "songs" doesn't suit at all!

I still can't upload songs. This is ridiculous. I go to album then songs and I pick a song then save and nothing happens.
