Homepage showing module twice

Hi Germi,

I know a lot of people have asked this but I couldn't find an answer that would solve my problem.

I'm trying to set a homepage and I read and followed the instructions.

- I created and enabled a module and assigned it to an unused position (user4)on the main menu I called "Bandas"

- I open MC Configuration and in the Introtext1 added {loadposition user4}

Both modules appear. The one I added in Introtext1 and the one I enabled to position User4.

Any ideas?

well, this is normal, because there is already a user4 position.
when we say "unused position" we mean a position that is NOT rendered by the template.

you can just make up a new one! just type something like "muscol_position" or whatever. it will work!

HI germi thanks for the response

It did work, however I don't know how to set the sidebar modules.

I've enable the modules position and added the code to the Introtext1.
But now they look like this.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks http://www.joomlamusicsolutions.com/images/fbfiles/images/Imagem8.png

hmm.. what you mean? how should it look?
maybe your template renders the module positions with some DIVs and classes in it, to change their look and feel.
if this is the case then you can simply check out what code does the template use (publishing it where you had it before, on the user4 position) and then simply copy/paste the code into INTROTEXT1 field. do u know what I mean?

I wanted it to go to a sidebar, like in demo.

I would like to have the bigger modules like Feature artists, feature albums on the main feature. And on the sidebar Random albums, top viewed artists, player, recently added, like you presented in demo.

I don't know what you mean by copy/paste the code for the other positions. how do I see the code?

if I make up a name for the position like I did before according to the tutorial, how does it know it's supposed to go to left sidebar for example?

    Thanks for your patience Germi!

    Hello Germi,

I enable a regular module in the left position and made the corrections on the mod_featured_artist.css file to adjust everything.

Now there is another problem, when I click in artist's page, the information won't fit in the space there's left now with the side bar as you can see in the image attached.

I'm sure I would have to make changes in css but I don't know which one, I don't see any mod_muscol_main or something like that.I can't find any css file under com_muscol either.

I'd appeciate if you could point me to a direction.

    thanks http://www.joomlamusicsolutions.com/images/fbfiles/images/Imagem18.png

    hello!

ok.. you want to mantain the left column, right?
in this case the best way to go would be to make the first column (where the album picture is) smaller.

it would be good for you if you use Firebug for Firefox, or the CSS console from Chrome, to know where are the CSS properties you want to modify.

    in this particular case:
in file /components/com_muscol/assets/album.css line 45 you define the image width.

and on line 60 you define the column width. set both to 300px for instance (or whatever fits to your site)

Ok, so I changed the album.css file and it looks like that, it seems that the list with the songs remained the same.

In demo it looks all so perfectly fit...I wonder how it was done. I mean, to have this right side bars.

In my website If I set to have sidebar modules only showing in Music Collection homepage it doesn't work, I guess I would have to change all the css parameters. http://www.joomlamusicsolutions.com/images/fbfiles/images/Imagem2.png
