I have tried to detect the mp3 files in a folder. It detected it. I clicked on save after uploading picture and adjusting genre. In the front end it shows the files but when I click on play it does not play and the length is 0.0 for these files.

I even tried to upload another mp3 and still give me length 0.0 and does not play. does it have to do with permissions? I have set it up Show online player for registered users to everyone as well as Allow song downloads to everyone. What did I do wrong?

    Here is the link:
    http://amsmlaval.ca/index.php?option=com_muscol&view=album&id=4&Itemid=367&lang=en

That was for detecting the files in the folder.

Here is the link for uploading the file:
    http://amsmlaval.ca/index.php?option=com_muscol&view=album&id=3&Itemid=367&lang=en

Here is some Screen shut to help you..
I have noticed that when I click on download it gave me 404 error
even though it detected these files itself. How come the files wouldn't be there (404 error). I am sure they are in the folder indicated in these screen shuts.

the problem is very simple :)

this is the file tried to be accessed: http://amsmlaval.ca/songs/sermons/ar/fr.anthonyattalla/27temalelsalib.mp3

but this is the file scanned:
    http://amsmlaval.ca/images/mp3/sermons/ar/fr.anthonyattalla/27temalelsalib.mp3

this means that on global configuration you have setted the SONGS PATH to /images/mp3
however, on your MAIN MENU ITEM that points to Music Collection, the SONGS PATH is still the original, /songs.

so all you have to do is go to menu manager, click on that menu item, and on the component parameters, on the right, set the SONGS PATH to /images/mp3 instead of /songs

    easy ;)

Thank you so much for your help ... now tracks are playing... but still detecting length 0.0 .. Would you know why?

doesn't have to detect the length of the track automatically.. or do I have to enter the length for each track manually?

if you enable ID3 tag reading and the files have ID3 tags, then the length will be imported automatically.

otherwise you have to enter it manually...!

    Hi,

I am having the same problem, but I can't find anywhere in the menu item to change the path. Has this changed? The files are uploading to the folder /songs but the filesize says 0, and when I try to play it nothing happens.
