Having problem when I try to add NEW artist.

did you have any previous installation of MC on your Joomla system?
this error could happen if there was an older version installed and it was not completely removed...

Yes, there was an older version.
Uninstall and reinstall attempts bring no joy.
Have tried several times to uninstall it from my test website and reinstall MusCol 2.3. However, adding new artist gives the same problem.
How should i uninstall and reinstall to sort out this problem without loosing my data from MySQL?
    Thanks.

well the problem is with the DB. you need to clean the muscol DB tables because the artists table is different

Just the Artists table needs attention?

Should I uninstall MusCol and manually delete Artists table from MySQL and then reinstall MusCol?

Any suggestions how to keep my artists table data and restore it?

Would it be ok to restore or will it bring up the same problem again if it's imported back into newly created Artists Table?

    Thanks.

well, to avoid loosing data, you can try a different approach: basically the difference is that the new artists DB table has more fields.

you can just install Music collection in a separate joomla installation, just to check the fields in that DB table. all missing fields you'll find (at the end).. well, just manually create them in the other joomla installation. do you know what I mean?

    All tables?
Should it be ok to import back Artists data into the new table or is it just trial and improvement i should follow?
