Hello Germi.
Thank you for a fantastic component - it's really great for our non profit business. We bought the Pro version.
I have searched through your Forum, but wasn't able to find my answer.
Our members are figuring out how to add artists and albums.
1. One small thing we've found is that when adding a buy link to an album, the buy button doesn't show on the album page itself.
Though when we add the buy link to the songs, the buy button appears as expected.
Would you happen to have an answer for this one?
2. One of our members has found that he doesn't have any editing capabilites from the front end once he's created his album. He can't get back in to edit songs. The edit button is missing on his page. He is using Firefox. I have looked through FF and IE8 and can't duplicate the error.
Would you have any advice here?
Regards.

0Hello!
1) does this happens always? Or only when hte album is added from frontend?
2) it does not depend on the browser. What MAY happen (its very strange, but I've seen it a couple of times) is that, for some reason, the creator of the album is not correctly stored. Go to backend, and check if the creator of the slbum (on albums list) is correct. If the field is missingm then probably was badly stored... He should just try to create the album again (you, as the admin, can delete the old bad-stored slbum record)

01. Yes it seems to be happening regardless of frontend of backend creation. Also having to refresh the page on occasion to see the player - 'player will appear in this space' - player shows on one refresh.
2. I did in fact recreate the gentleman's album and have already updated his Artist entry. I had him send me his music files and I recreated by uploading a folder (his artist name) and scanned from backend. I did note, however, that he had some unusual symbols in his track titles ie #1 etc. Removing the # seemed to work for me and his album and tracks are now showing. However he still can't see his edit icon from the front end. It could be something with his computer - I can't seem to find a logical explanation. -

01. Germi - sleep depravation got in the way for me here
It was in the parameter settings. I had the buy button on Albums set to NO. So this one is resolved.
I've seen many posts regarding the 'player will appear in this paragraph' issue. For what it's worth, there is no error to report in IE. It just seems to be an intermittent problem where page refresh is required for the jw player to show. I did try the "var muscol_player_module_loaded = false ;" fix, but it only worked for a time and has reverted to the page refresh option. This is for the 'one player per album only' option in the plugin.
If I select the 'one player per song' option in the plugin, both the 'One player per album only' and 'One player per song' appear on the album page together... and no page refresh is required to see the players. It's just that you have both sets of players on the page.
It seems that proplem might have something to do with the 'one player per album only' option. When the 'player per song' is not included, the page refresh issue arises.
That's just what's happening here, and I hope that helps somehow.
Regards.
EDIT: No - I stand correcting myself. The player is still responding randomly. Thought I was onto something there. But it's still intermittent. -

0Okay... trying one more time regarding the 'player in paragraph' issue.
In IE: As the page loads, the album image wants to load first and seems to stop the player from loading.
In FF: The player clearly loads before the album image.
That's all I have - but thought you might be able to work out some kind of 'if ie8'

0ok. it turns out that this is a small bug. the buy link only displays IF there is some song on the album (there are no songs on the album, right?
this file should solve this problem
[file name=default-20100815.zip size=3928]http://www.joomlamusicsolutions.com/images/fbfiles/files/default-20100815.zip[/file]
unzip the file first.
you must replace it for the one existing in /components/com_muscol/views/album/tmpl/default.php -

Hi Germi... have you resolved this one?
Both players on the page, neither play track. You have to go through to the track page before you can listen to it.
Please take a look at this example:

0no, I dont need the file (i already have it, its on the /components/com_muscol directory)
the point is that I would like to test it a bit to see what's wrong...
nevermind, I'll install joomla 1.5.21 on my local server and turn sef on, and see if I have the same problem, and try to work it out...
it will take me a couple of days, though... :S I'll try to solve it ASAP!

Hi Germi - with regards to the SEF interfering with the player functioning correctly on the Artist pages, have you managed to resolve this yet?

0Here's my quick solution for anyone with the same problem.
Joomla's internal sef doesn't work with some players on an artists page (player not playing tracks etc unless clicking through on actual track title).
I downloaded the current Joomsef by Artio plus additional extension created by Germi - all now works as expected.
Cheers Germi
