Album view ignores parameters...

Nice work on Music Collection 2.0!!!

I have one issue at the moment, that I just can't figure out. I use the default album view with certain parameters set to Hide always:
Show format on album details
Show types on album details
Show addition date on album details
Show price on album details
Show length on album details
Show number of discs on album details
Show edition details on album details

Once a user logs in and adds a rating, all fields set to Hide always (see above) appear again. This remains so until the user log's out.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? :silly:

your GLOBAL parameters are setted ok (hide always), but most likely your MENU parameter is not setted the same way (remember: in joomla, menu parameters always override global paramters)

so, go to the MENU that points to music collection, and check the parameters there (on the right: parameters->component)

I have 1 menu item, which is the Standard Album Layout type.

The menu parameters in Parameters (Component) are
Show album details is set to Global
The rest of the relevant album parameters is set to either Show always, Hide always or Show only if empty.

Yet still once user logs in and rates, all unwanted album details will show.

    The site is located at:
    http://www.newwave7inch.com/joomla/

I suggest you acces the site without logging in and test the following:
Click on the album in the featured artist section
You will then see the album view as it should be
    Note the hidden fields

Now create an account and log in
    Rate an album
You will see that in the album view all the album details were set to hidden are back.

If you need temporary admin access to analyse, please let me know so by email.

its the menu parameters, as I told you. try this:
on the params, make the DEFAULT ITEMID set to 17 (that will point all links to that menu item and hide the fields you dont want)

USE THIS NUMBER (17) also for your modules!!! which have a parameter called ITEMID as well

by the way, here's a suggestion: if you main menu item for MC is going to be that 7" single database item, I suggest you to make it "music collection -> artists/detailed", wich will make the navigation really easier.

nice site by the way. is this going to be a 7" single database? it looks promising

    You are my hero!!!

    Both instructions work! :woohoo:

Yes, it's a 7" single only site. The aim is to provide a 7" single database for the New Wave genre where the cover artwork is central. I am now using the standard MC to fill the database and play around, but will upgrade once that is done with probably some tailor work needed to be done. I have only worked on this for a few hours in total up to now (I bought the module last week) and am already convinced I made the right choice. Nice work!
