Upgrading from first muscol to latest and upgrading latest joomla

Hi Gemma,

I need to upgrade. I am using the first Muscol which I believe is 1.5 (not sure where to check my version) Muscol 1.5 and Joomla 1.5

I would like to upgrade to the latest Joomla 3 and get the latest Muscol which I believe in 2.4.3 and still keep my data.

How do I go about doig this. My subscription has expired and I got to the renew page should i just proceed with that and I will get all the necessary files for both upgrades.

    3. Would it be better to start with a new joomla installation of 3x and a new muscol 2.4.3 then move the muscol tables in mysql from muscol 1.5 to 2.4.3??

    Hello Sean,

    it's Germi, not Gemma ;)

    You can simply proceed to purchase the package directly in our store.
    The way to go is to maybe uninstall music collection ,then upgrade joomla, then install the new version.
    however going from 1.5 to 3.x is.. well, very complicated. not for Music Collction, but for joomla in general

    it would be DEFINITELY much better to make a fresh install and then move the tables. you will still need to perform a bit of upgrade on the MySQL tables, but that part will be easier than the other way.

    Hi Germi, thanks for the quick reply.
    Please note I have taken your advice to do a fresh install. Could you please tell me what template/theme you are using for the demo so I know where to get it, or if the template already comes with the Muscol package that I will buy for 79Euro.

      the template we are using on our website has nothing to do with Music Collection.. it's called Nano2 and it's from YooTheme. :)
