I have setup my joomla site on my local server to complete my site and then upload to my web server. I cannot get the JW player working.
The instructions on setup are quite vague and not for the newbie.
Example:
What should be length of your music files ?
How can you clear the playlist as it keeps on adding the songs
If your songs are in the songs folder in the root, what should you enter in the 'name' and 'link' boxes ??
I keep on getting the 2032 error when playing any file from the playlist.
What should I check and is there somewhere I can view how the modules and plugin is configured for proper setup ?

0hello,
in fact, no much configuration is needed. NAME of the song is just this, the name. give it whatever you like.
LINK..? you mean BUY LINK? no need to worry about that either.
all you need is to upload a file using the uploader, and if you want, just in case, check that the file has been stored in the folder songs.
to empty a playlist, you should have a menu item pointing to MUSIC COLLECTION -> PLAYLIST
through this item you can modify, edit, empty playlists, etc.
last but not least: error 2032: are you running any SEF engine (joomla built-in, sh404sef, artio joomsef...) ?

0no, I think there is no problem with that size. I just said because PHP has a variable that limites the size of the files that can be uploaded. usually this variable is set to someting like 8M
anyway, you can take a look, just in case. check out max_post_size and upload_max_filesize PHP variables and see what is their value.
can you post a link to your site? -

0Tried but no success. My site is on a server with address 192.168.1.100. In the Parameters (components) should the server be http://192.168.1.100 or local server ? -

0no, you dont need to change the parameter. if no server is speficied, then the same server is used.
if you open the songs folder, there's no file in it?
I'm thinkin that the cause may be the fact that your url has no name (if it was "localhost", it could work..maybe...)
please, check the php variables on your joomla installation (help->system info->php information) -

0Sorry to be such a bother.
What should I check in the pHp variables ?
I have tried /var/www as the server also localhost but no success.
No files saved in the songs folder when I upload them also when I play the songs the system sort of hangs up with the message 'waiting for 192.168.1.100....'
Should I reinstall the modules again ? -

0I do not have this error, in Components menu, I have no MUSIC COLLECTION -> PLAYLIST.
I do have MUSIC COLLECTION >Albums, Artists, Formats, Genres, Types, Tags, Comments and rating... but no Playlist.
Everything seems fine and fucntional (I have songs loaded in hr eright palces and all) but get the error message "no valid filetypes" because I have no place to set up play list.
Please help. -

0"no valid filetypes" is not an error, dont worry about it (is just that the playlist is empty)
you can add items into it just by clickin on the add to playlist button next to each song. try it
however, what is really weird... is that you dont have "Music Collection -> playlists" menu item type!!! :S :S are you sure?
maybe some went wrong on the installation... maybe you can re-install it?
