dewplayer does not work on 1.5, you need JW Player.

download it on the downloads area

in fact looking at this now, i think i must have done something wrong or missing something, because now im trying to put in a new artist, i fill out the details, select a picture for the artist name and i get this error

Fatal error: Call to undefined method TableArtist::getErrorMsg() in /home/****/public_html/*****/administrator/components/com_muscol/models/artist.php on line 95

It did seem to install ok though, and i put in all the folders where it told me to.

Patience is a virtue in this game isnt it ;)

Yes im afraid so, even without trying to load an image with the new artist, happens every time i try to create a new artist.

Looking into this, it looks like i have a clash with the site i want to put MC on, its got jomsocial mainly, and all the bits that go with that.
I quickly knocked up a new joomla and installed MC on that, made a new artist, uploaded a song and got it to play all straight forward really, so there seems to be something on my jomsocial site that MC doesn't like. Has anybody else heard of this clash.

hmm... no.. never noiced this. it's strange, I mean, it should have nothing to do with jomsocial at all...

have you just tried to uninstall/reinstall MC on that jomsocial site?

maybe there was sometinig wrong on the installation...

    Hi.
ive tried to unistall it a few time now, even checking by hand best i could to make sure there is nothing left of MC in the folders, but each time i install it again, it remembers anything i tried to do from the previous installation. Categories tags and so on, so the problem still remains. Although it is working lovely on the new fresh joomla installation, The test joomla (with MC working fine) is on the same server using the same configurations.Soooo  baffled B)

oh, sorry, I forgot to mention that uninstalling does not erase database data... :S to make a *really* clean installation, you should also delete database tables (all those begining for "jos_muscol"... if you have phpMyAdmin, for instance, this is easy to do.

I'm still thinkin on where this problem can come from... never faced it before!

Sorted it thanks, i did a clean install, but this time i went and cleared out all the references in the database too, which made all the difference. Everything works as it should now... :cheer:

Right, onto the next bit :P
