I am using the 1.5 version and I want to know how I can fix these two issues.
First, I have tried to set a price on a song but the song can still be downloaded even without having to pay, is there any solution to locking the download until payment?
Second, songs can be manually downloaded from internet browsers i.e. firefox so is there a way I can just have a preview of a song.
These two problems limit the ability of my website.

1) price is just an informative field. it has nothing to do in downloading the song whatsoever. music collection does NOT have a selling system!
2) no. to have a preview of a song you would need a new field which is not availalbe. you would need some custom development work to have this...
