Multiple tag support for artist page

This is something that has been requested before, but I feel should be thrown back out there for consideration as it has been sometime.

It would be really useful to have the ability to tag the artist page. Tags could be anything. They could represent genres, instruments, styles, moods, keywords, etc. Pretty much anything a user would want to use.

It would look really classy if these can be placed right after the artist bio. One could then should be able to click on any one of the tags and bring up a search page that lists all artist pages that have that tag.

This would really add high SEO keyword ranking to the site and pages. It would also make the page a lot more useful for the end users. And being that the tags could be anything the admin wants, it would solve a lot of requests far as additional fields, multiple genres, tags, multiple active years, etc.

A component that I that does an awesome job of utilizing tags is easyblog by stackideas. A demo is located at http://demo.stackideas.com/

Or you can see it used in a live setting on one of the sites I manage at http://www.kevinbluemel.com/ They are the tags located at the bottom of each article. For example, click on New Age Music tag and it will pull up all articles tagged with that keyword. I have found this to be super useful for grouping categories as well as giving certain keywords a lot of weight in google searches. It would rock to have this type of power inside of MC!!!

Would you pretty please consider adding something like this into MC? :)

Thanks!

    Wonderful news!!!

Guess I should probably load up joomla 3.0 on my dev box and get familiar with it.

well, even Joomla 3.0 is already stable, I really don't recommend start using it yet (on a live site I mean) because there are still a lot of things to improve and many extensions aren't compatible with it yet..

    hello,

we will release this on the next version (we are going to migrate this site in the following weeks, that is taking us a lot of work. once on the new site, we'll release the new version)

however, recently Joomla anounced that they will include a tag system in joomla 3.1, which will be exportable to extensions, so we will also work to integrate this solution with the new version (only on joomla 3.0, of course)

First of all congratulations on the new website design! Looks nice!

Just wondering if you have any update on when MC will be able to use Joomla default Tagging system in the artist, album, and song pages?
