Hi how are you? I'm new to Joomla and I was looking around for extension just like yours but before I buy, I have a few questions.

I'm a building a music label website but it's not quite what I'd call a "community/social" website where user get to upload their own songs or whatnot.

What I am trying to accomplish is this:

1.) Create an artist database (preferebly in alphabetical order) where users can click on artist thumbnails with a brief discription that links to an article: their bios (using Content ID).

2.) Allow users to click on an artist/album to listen to it, give reviews and comments as well as ratings (from what I've seen it looks like this is covered.)

3.) I can disable users from creating/uploading their own albums/song lists. I DO NOT want users to have the ability to upload their own songs and albums, I just want them to have access to the music that's on the site and give their input. Their ability in this regard is limited and want to have control over this aspect.

If this covers it, then I think it's a go as far as me purchasing this. Thanks for the help in advance.

    1) yes, no problem. but actually, the Bio of the artist is directly a field of the arist profile, no need to use external content! :)

    2) yes, totally covered... just as point 1

    3) no problem at all... you just need the "non-community" version! the difference between community version and non-community is precisely this: on non-community, frontend users cannot add content! :)

I do believe our component just totally covers your needs! :) dont you?

    best,

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

    I have some more questions:

1.) The non-community, version, is that the 49 dollar value one (preferably without the link), where I am still able to integrate comments, reviews, etc.?

2.) Also, am I able to integrate a buy now button that's either compatiable with a Paypal or Virtuemart's eccommerce system?

    1) absolutely. the only non-included thing is the frontend content adding, all the rest is included. (by the way, its 49EUR not USD)

    2) well, there is a field to define a "buy" button on each song/album, but this is just a link. I mean, no buying-process is handled by Music Collection itself at all. this field is more just a link thinked to "point to amazon" or iTunes, somewhere else where a visitor can buy that item. does this answer your question?

Okay, I understand. This isn't actually a bad thing because I want to have a seperate shop page on my site where people actually buy the music as a download.

So to ask...rather redundantly (lol)....Can I use the "buy now" button as a link to an article, or another page on my site? This would naturally be a yes answer but I'm asking all these tedious questions because I'm trying to convince my client into buying this (and saving me a whole lot of searching for another extension that does something similar.)
