Migrate MC installation from Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 3

I'm planning to migrate my Joomla 1.5 to the v 3 and I was wondering how to proceed.
I use a couple of years old version of MC.
I'm planning to use SP Upgrade to migrate Joomla.
Has any one done this before? what is the best practice?
Should I install Joomla 3 and the newest MC Component first then migrate my data?
Please advice.

    but the version 3.x for joomla or for music collection. i imagine both not?

      both, of course. you will first need to migrate Joomla, and then to install the new version of music collection

      you need the 3.x version in order for it to work.

    Hello,

    well, first of all you need ou version for joomla 3, of course.

    to migrate the music collection, I suggest you to backup the DB tables (#__muscol), then simply install music collection on joomla 3 normally, and then backup the DB
