A couple Qs

Hi

It seems you have a very nice extension, many of its features are what I'm missing in my current multi~media solution

I am considering switching over a site that is mostly video content to your component. A couple things may stand in the way right now, so i am wondering your thoughts on these topics:

* ability to add 2 versions of a file for download -- high and low quality (ie. SD and HD video/mp3)
* ability to store & stream files remotely from Amazon S3 cloud server
* do videos stream? or must the video download first before playing...
* access control: is there built in access control? Or is it limited to setting the Joomla user levels of menu items/modules/etc. ?
* do you know any examples of your software being used as a multimedia solution for anything besides albums? My site more or less would change the terminology of Album to Channel. Would I experience much difficulty repurposing[hacking] the extension in this way?

Also as you may be aware JW Player released version 5.3 which has HTML5 support, which is good news for your software!

Please let me know your thoughts on these questions...

Thanks!!

1 - this is not possible, but could be added as custom work
2 - it is possible with a some custom work, too. but not out of the box, if you use RTMP (amazon S3 uses it, I think)
    3 - they stream
4 - no, there's not. only joomla native
5 - well, not much difficulty, but some work. the thing is Music Collection is intended to play SONGS (mp3, aac, etc), and you want to play videos with it. it is possible, because the player reproduces video as well, but "originally" the extension was not thinked for that.
you would be using "songs" component item to store, actually, "Videos", and the "album" element would be in fact a "channel"
yes, it can be done, but it may require a bit of working on your side.

I didnt know JWplayer 5.3 supported HTML5, that is an awesome new.

I'll take a look at it, but for now music collection uses jwplayer 4.1

I wouldn't mind sponsoring the AmazonS3 integration... especially with directory scanning. This would allow me to use this great app.
