How do you make the search bar and search box smaller or removed them from the home page in Music collection mod.

this "big gap" is simply there because your template's CSS file is adding a "margin bottom: 40 px" to that DIV element (HTML)
you can remove this in your template CSS if you want.. although I would not do it if it was me, because the template must be designed that way for some reason..
the other thing you can do is to show directly the SEARCH page for music collection this way you will see directly some album results...
