I am trying to get the album image to show up on my first attempt to create an album entry.

I can't get images to show up. All the folders are there; I have also attempted to manually upload images to respective folders successfully. They just don't show up in the web page.... thanks for any help.

I am using 2.5 joomla, and installed com_muscol_2.3.0_pro_1.6.zip.

I am also using the N6 joomlashack template. I have a top menu link to show the issue: "music collection" at http://www.minochristante.com...

755 should be ok, yes... maybe the folder owner is not setted correctly?
if you can't upload files manually, this could be it..!

Germi, yes I can post files no problem. Also from the admin backend I can apparently upload an .jpg. It just doesn't show up either in the admin component or on the frontend....

uh, duh. Er, do I need to upload manually album pics normally at the correct size? I thought the component uploaded, and resized the image...

the component uploads it, and resizes. of course! for some reason, in your case the image wasn't uploaded.. what's why I asked about the permissions. can you try to upload again?

    I deleted the following folders:

    album_extra
    - album_name
    - artist_name
    albums
    - thumbs_40
    - thumbs_115
    artists
    formats
    tags

I then deleted the cache. Then I deleted the couple of test entries. At that point I created new folders. Each folder has permissions of 755. I then created a new entry and attempted to upload a 500x500 jpg. I got no error. A white square appeared for the test entry on the webpage but no image. I then swapped out various templates with the same issue. I then checked the folders and there was no image. Yet, when I upload an image, I am able to do so to the respective folder.

Please let me know the next troubleshooting steps to take.

    Tnanks!
    m.

just to clarify, "attempted to upload a 500x500 jpg" means I used the component interface, selecting the jpg on my local box, then clicking 'save' in the component interface. At this point, I was not sftping the image file.

I did that after the above failed.

please let me know if you want me to completely uninstall. Is there a how-to to properly uninstall completely on your site somewhere? I have looked but have not yet found it. Thanks.

    hello!

no you don't need to uninstall. did you get the last email I sent you?
it's definitely a problem with saveing (writing) files on the folder...

could you give me FTP access?

Finally, you can use extplorer for access to files. I have had apache recompiled with suPHP and enabled. Please let me know if that will be sufficient to further troubleshoot.

After I recompiled apache with suPHP, turned off ftp inside Joomla 2.5 itself, and let the cache settle, it appears to work just fine as far as the images are concerned. And the player plugin works. Thanks for your stellar and timely help! I love this app. It is going to be exciting to play with with on the site - especially getting the html5 player working for iphone/ipad, and getting the stand alone player to work. Thanks.
