It explains how to set up an app on Facebook, linking the URL back to the site. This still hasn't fixed the issue however.

Do I need to put "App ID" or "App Secret" anywhere within the plugin?

I ran the Facebook Debug tool found here - https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

It gave me the following information:

Missing Required Property: The 'og:url' property is required, but not present.

Open Graph Warnings That Should Be Fixed

Inferred Property: The 'og:url' property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
Inferred Property: The 'og:title' property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.

can you link to your page? the og:url should actually be created on the page...

all that happens is that if you post this to facebook, facebook cannot access the page because it's password protected!!! that's all! do you know what I mean?

Thank you SO much for the help. Now that you point that out, I feel like a dummy for not noticing it myself. It makes sense that if the site is "closed" behind a username and password, then Facebook cannot get to it. Thank you SO much for looking at it.
