Greetings,

I'm unsure if I need to upgrade or not. I installed version 2.2.0 but some of the files in the download section specify 2.2.0_1.6 and I'm unsure if they are different files? Thank you...

The files that end with 1.6 are if you are using joomla 1.6 or the just released joomla 1.7. The others are for joomla 1.5. It really just depends on which version of joomla your using and what mods your site requires. MC has updates for both versions depending on which package you purchased. However not all other joomla mods have been as quick to update to be compatible with joomla 1.6.

Okay, so I installed just normal 2.2.0 for 1.5 and now need to upgrade to 2.2.0 to 1.6, and you're telling me that there's one file for that?
I couldn't find that file. And also, when I try to upload the new 2.2.0_1.6 files they all say error no XML document could be found. Do I need to install these manually? or should my joomla installer work?

    hello

no, theres no upgrader from 1.5 to 1.6

    they are just different versions

did you upgrade your joomla from 1.5 to 1.6? or it's a different site?

in case you upgraded, then you need to uninstall Music Collection and then install the version for 1.6....

    (no data will be lost)

Okay, so... do I just delete the component and modules out of the site? or is there an install procedure. I haven't been able to find it yet...

yes, just delete and then install the versions for 1.6...

the bad news is that you will loose all modules when uninstalling them .... :S but currently there's no other way to do it...

Okay, now you got me in trouble. I went into my file manager and manually deleted out the com_muscol and mod_muscol folders and the plugin folders.
Then, I realized I made a huge mistake and should have uninstalled them in the joomla directory in the backend instead.
Now I cannot uninstall anything because there are no files in uninstall.
Also, my homepage loads completely blank.
Is there anything I can do now, or what?

    wowww...!!!

bug mistakeee..!!!!! I didn't tell you to erase the folders.. just to uninstall the files...!!!!

    :S

well, don't worry, not all hope is lost. you can just restore the files where they belong, so later you can uninstall PROPERLY ;)

just download the package for joomla 1.5

    unzip it.

there are two folders in there: site and admin

put "site" on /components and rename it to com_muscol

same for admin folder, this time on /administrator/components

I thing that will solve it... and then just uninstall

oh, and for the modules... you'll have to do the same...!!!
