Hello developers Music collection.
I have a question to you. Can you guys change from current music player to something like see attachment please. (this one from sound cloud just example) Is it possible? Or can I use it instead the current one? If yes, how?
Let me know please, I don't like the current one, I need something modern, current looks like welcome to 2005 year. in other words current is old.

I just have to add that everything looks good until you need support......... I have over 10 years with Joomla and you will not find better support anywheres that is even close to the support offered by "Music Collections" period....

the only player supported by Music Collection at the moment is the Jwplayer we serve. however, if you ask me, it's pretty similiar in its structure and design... I don't see that much of a difference

    Germi,

I would still highly recommend the soundmanager2 player or a different player over the jw player 6. I find jw player 6 annoying as they have removed their addon support for it, so no more nice EQ, as well as their are only a few skins, most of which require one to purchase the license to use. Not to mention jw player keeps increasing their cost to license it and keeps moving further away from audio. I only use jw player now days for video sites and even then I try to avoid it as i can't justify spending so much money on their high licensing fees.

Thanks Greengeek, soundmanager2 looks good, I actually had already seen it in the past. first of we are going to adjust our API to work with JWplayer6, but that will actually be for making a more wide (usefull) system, so a possible with other players like soundmanager will be possible.

we are working on a newer version of the jwplayer based on the newer jwplayer 6 which looks much better and not so "2005" as you say ;)

Not without code modification to MC. Currently MC is coded to use the JW Player. For the soundmanager2 player to work, it would take either custom coding or for Germi to create an update to MC. How MC would interact with the APIs and submit tracks and playlists differ between the two.

I would love to see this be an option or even be the replacement as it would then limit any additional expense only to the joomlathat company and I wouldn't have to branch out and spend additional money for the jwplayer.

I would love to see Music Collection use something that is more open source and free and does not require one to have to pay to license it to remove the branding. I would highly recommend http://www.schillmania.com/projects/soundmanager2/ Soundmanager2. It is open source, its free and it works with both html5 and flash fall back. It is the sound engine that Sound Cloud uses for their player that you linked above.
