we recently updated our software to version 2.2, which has files for 1.5 and 1.6. we are still in the process of merging documentation to create a new user's guide, and it's true some articles need to be updated to explain new files.

the basics:

1) all files for joomla 1.6 end with "1.6.zip"
2) in your case, you have the community version, so the main file to install is com_muscol_XXX_community_pro.zip
3) specifically, it's com_muscol_2.2.0_community_pro.zip or com_muscol_2.2.0_community_pro_1.6.zip if you use J 1.6
4) you must install also plg_jwplayer_2.2.0.zip
5)besides of that, all the rest of modules and plugins are OPTIONAL. filenames are usually quite self-explainatory. "mod_muscol_recently_added" is to show recently added albums, etc.
6) layouts are the included layout files on the distribution (it is included, yes). it's only about the LOOK and FEEL of the component itself. that particular article explains which files you need to modify in case you want to make specific "layout changes" to the HTML code. usually you DONT NEED to modify this (most of the adjustements can be done using only CSS....)

7) while the documentation is still pending to be updated and re-packed, you can just ask your spefici questions, here on the forum or direcly to ME at joomlamusicsolutions@gmail.com. I'll respond all doubts you may have

8) all that should be enough for you to get started with the software. a great way to start is to create a menu item MUSIC COLLECTION -> ARTISTS (detailed) to be your starting point.

Hi, thanks for your information. I'm very new to website design, and firstly, my primary purpose is to make my music site as looks as your demo site. There are few questions I would like to ask.

1. I learned from you how to use INTROTEXT fields for great displays. I see some pagebreak lines in your demo site and I thinks it is important for every modules display on the main page for my site also. I have problems how to put that pagebreak lines as in demo page. How to do that?

2. When I display Top Viewed Artist module on the main page by using [loadposition] funtion inside INTROTEXT fields, the modules titles are not displayed. How to make the module titles appear as in demo page?

3. When I do enlarging and minimizing page view in/out, the above mentioned Top Viewed Artist module is exceptionally enlarging or minimizing where other modules like Search and Letter Bar are not. How to make the module sizes (as determined in its setting) fitted as in demo site when page zooming in and out?

4. Could you explain how to add songs or links song folders to a player? The reason why I ask you this question is that when I try to add songs in album manager page, it does not work. I believe I need to know more about how MC system works like how they function.
