What does sandbox do in the PayPal Plugin

What does the sandbox option in the PayPal plugin do? How do you use it (looked at doc for PayPal and it shows in the screen shot, but not mentioned in the text).

    PayPal sanbox is the test environment that PayPal offers ( you need an special account ). it's nothing you should really concern about.. if you hadn't heard about it before, then probably you don't need it :)
