Hi Germinal,

One of my templates has stopped showing quote items (articles).
I have a template for quotes and one for orders. Both are basically copies from eachother with bit different text on them.
The one for quotes is showing the items just fine, the one for the orders is showing the column titels and next things is the totals row. Everything in between (the articles) are missing.

When I duplicate the quote template, renaming it without making any changes to the code in it and then assigning it to the quote, I'm also missing the articles in it. And this while the original template is showing the articles. Not sure how an identical copy of a template can be different when only it's name has been changed.

Would you mind having a look ?

Thanks,
Mario

Hello,

the thing is that it should have been working with the older templates too. So the real question (for me) is "why wasn't it working for invoice template?".
it's normal that it still worked with the quote template, and it should be working with the invoice template too.

I don't know the reason why it's not working but in any case it is highly recommended to use the new system (which you already have done), because that's how it will work from now on...

    I don't mind taking a look.

however, please make sure first that the items are inside the necessary tags

take a look at our original invoice template: http://www.joomlathat.com/documentation/invoice-manager/bootstrap-invoice-template-14

    Hi Germinal,

With your reference to the bootstrap template, I managed to resolve the issue for the template. The items section was indeed missing.

However... it is missing in all my templates. Remember that in the old IM version, the code for Items was separate from the rest of the template code.
After migration, I did not see this separate area any more, but I also did not have any issues with any of my migrated templates so there was no reason for me to look into where that code had gone.

What is more surprising is that I had to add the Items section into my code for this specific (orders) template. However, the Quote template, which is identical (few words are different), which does not have the Items section in it, works perfectly. How is that possible ? As are all my other templates. All 13 of them ;o).
Do you have some kind of a fail safe build in that takes care of this when migrating from the old version of IM to the new version ?

    Thanks,
    Mario

Just saw that the Taxes section was missing as well.
Same remark for this one as well: the quote template seems to work the old fashion way with {items} and {taxes} in the template while I had to insert the full and and in the orders template...

    That's fine, no worries.

I will schedule some time to add the missing sections of code to the other templates as well, even if they are working at the moment without them. Better safe now then sorry later.

    Thanks,
    Mario

    Hi Germinal,

I reproduced the above issue after upgrading one of my customers to version 1.4.9:
The templates are correctly migrated and work perfectly after the upgrade. However, if you touch them in any way (change the template name is already enough and save them, the become faulty). This is using plain text edits in case you are wondering.

So after making changes to a migrated template, you are forced to add the missing Items sections etc..

    Cheers,
    Mario
