Hello,
I just wanted to know if anyone knows if you can configure a module to create stats on links. Say you have an article (and no K2) with some text and pictures in it. Some of these words and pictures may be a link to another part of the website or even perhaps to another website. Can you set up stats for that as well? If yes, how and what do I need in (any) extensions? I have played with the plugins and modules for 2 hours now, and I can't seem to figure it out. Again, my brain must be too tired to see it. Please point me to the right direction.
I thank you in advance for your help.
Kindest regards,
Wendy Webster

0hello
all that Content Statistics can track are "internal" links, so links to components in joomla. if these links you talk about are internal then they can be tracked, but if not, then you should actually set some kind of "bridge" through an internal component to be able to track.
do you know what I mean?I don't know if I explained myself very well

0I think I understand you. So only internal links from one page to the other, or one component to the order can be tracked. But anything outside it, like a completely different website, cannot be tracked.
Ok..... the question remains. How to set the module to do this? I need to research this a bit further.
Thanks for your answer. You are a great help!

0yes, that's right.
out of my mind, what I can think of is if you use a component, like WEBLINKS (included in jooma) to create this links, and you use them. this way you can actually go to the real link using this component as the "gateway" we were talking about, and then log the hit on the link.
do you know what I mean?
in this case, what you would need would be a plugin for the component used (com_weblinks for instance) because we don't have it availalbe on our standard package...
