Hi,
My map module displays an abnormally high number of visits from USA, mainly from Redmond (Washington) and Chicago (Illinois), so I suspect that connections between CS and Google are being considered as user visits. If this is so, how could I make CS to ignore these?
Can see my map module at http://www.pasosonline.org/la-revista/estadisticas
Thanks in advance,
Juan

the visits from the "googlebot" are filtered by our system (this can be set on the system plugin configuration parameters)

    Hi,
In the box "Do not store these User Agent visits" the following are included.
    googlebot,msnbot,yahoo,facebookexternalhit
Do I need to do something else?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Juan

    Hello Juan,

    sorry for the late answer.

"googlebot" is the Google search engine, so these visits are already blocked.. maybe it's another search engine that is visiting your site?

    hello germinal,
    thanks for your reply.
    Just two questions
Can I filter IP ranges, say [1-255] for a specific source, or do I need to specify them individually in the Do not store these IPs text box?
A further question. Might there be russian and chineese search engines robots crawling my web? I have also enormous number of visits from Russia an China to sobipro articles, which has no logical explanation. IPs from China are 180.76.6.x and 180.76.5.x. IP from Russia is 199.21.99.113

    Thanks in advance,
    Juan

    hi Juan,

at the moment, you need to specify the IPs individually. we will work to add a IP range filter options for a new version.

search engines: yes, I guess so... what I would do is to look somewhere the name of the main robots from search engines (http://www.robotstxt.org/db.html for example) and add the main ones to the plugin..

    Hi Germinal,
Is there any CS upgrade so I can define IP ranges rather than inserting each individual IP in the Do not sotore these IPs field. If not, do I use the name of the robots in the list you reccommed as is. I mean, the name of each individual bot as they appear in the list? Or should I use the name in the User Agent field which I get when I click in the name of the bot in the list?
One further question. When inserting either in your Do not store these User Agent visits field, do I need comma and space inbetween them or simply comma?
    Thanks in advance,
    Juan

hello Juan, we are preparing a new version to be released very soon, that will include the IP range filter.

you just need comma (no space)
