Kunena 2.x Known Issues?

0
Hi,

Question: Are there any known issues with Kunena 2.x on Joomla 2.5.x?

The reason I am asking is because only very few events seem to register for Kunena on my website.

www.starvmax.com

The site is registering about 1/2 million page views per week (without bots and threads total of about 1M) but I only see very few views and no post events getting captured since I installed the plugins.

I do get data but for yesterday for example only UNREGISTERED Topic Views.
At the same time registered users made some 80 posts on that same day and must have done views, as some member only areas received plenty of views.

What is the best way to debug this?

Thank you!

hmm.. there must be some little bug in here. another user reported a similar behavior a few days ago.

please, let me look into this, maybe the latest version of Kunena is presenting some problem.

I'll contact you within 24h approx. I'll look into any differences with the latest Kunena version.

    hello!

    issue found and fixed :)
new version of the plugin available: http://www.joomlacontentstatistics.com/ambrasubs/file/view/20
    just download and install

    thanks for the heads up!

COMMENT: be careful with page views... I mean, if you are having so many visits a day.. the DB can get very big, very quickly.. you wanna be careful with that..!
I don't think we have any user that has a site with so many visits! 1M a day.. that's crazy!! :)

Thank you! That did the trick!

As for pages views - its a million per week. Not per day. Still - everything has to be handled VERY carefully at scale.

Would be great to be able to purge the stats tables for data older than x. I would like to keep the most current month in there but no more.

yep, that's a good idea if the DB is going to be big..
for now you can do this directly in the DB table, just "delete where date_event <= 'whatever' "

FYI - Your Kunena New Topic screen has javascript bug. The toolbar does not come up and the Add File button doe snot do anything.

I think I found another issue with the module to display ranked topics.

I have a topic that comes up without a name.

You can see for yourself here: www.starvmax.com/forum
Check out the Most Talked About module.

I narrowed down the statistics that come up without a name:

They are entries for new topics being created. Looks like that the plugin logic has an issue with the very first post of every topic. Since they are all stored as empty, the get counted together and show up as the top replied to topic in the stats module.

SOrry to keep adding on to this:

Turns out that many of the Links to topics are incorrect.

    For example on www.starvmax.com/forum

The top pick of the Hot Topic: Fire in the Hole!
takes you to a completely different test topic.

my appologies, there was one thing missing.

    please download: http://www.joomlacontentstatistics.com/ambrasubs/file/view/79

and reinstall. this fixes the "wrong link" issue. about the first issue: can you make an example? you mean first posts are not being recorded?

    sorry for the inconvenience!
