Is this suitable for a customization?

Thinking of requesting some customization but just asking here to know how possible and how hard it would be as cost is a big big issue.

Firstly though, just wondering how customized extensions work when there is an upgrade to that extension? Would it be similar to where I changed the code on this to not open the list in a new window? In other words, would the custom code have to be redone each time there is a new version?

The customization I want would require a bit of research. I believe there is a php function out there that will do what I want (I have seen a similar solution to what I want on Stack Overflow).

What I have is online, virtual events as my site is for a worldwide gaming community. Our base time (and hence the site time) is set to United Kingdom, London. This is often close to UTC but varies in the British summer with daylight savings time applying.

What I would like to have on the calendar planner is an additional box or boxes that displays the event date and time in the local date and time of the person viewing OR ALTERNATIVELY if that is too difficult could I have a custom box where I can insert countdown html code from http://www.timeanddate.com/clocks/freecountdown.html. Both things would also be ideal....

What do you think?

Oh and a couple of other things:

    - Disable the Map button as it isn't used
    - On menu I select menu item type as event list but it always shows as a week, is there a way to have this always display as a list?

    Hello,

    - if an extension is customized, you most likely won't be able to upgrade to a future version directly because files could be overriden and customization could get lost. depending on the customization, a "manual" upgrade could be possible but would need to be performed by us.

ok, what you're asking for is basically a way to display the calendar (the events, etc), on a different timezone than the one they were inputted in. right? so, for inputting events you would always use your time (UK in your case), but people could choose to see the events in different timezone (or simply make the system do it automatically depending on user's location)

yes it would be possible, but yes it would require some custom coding. "event datetime" is the deep core of the whole system, so this needs to be done carefully. you can contact us at support@ joomlathat.com for that.

    - disabling MAP button will be easy.
    - yes, actually if you download our latest built (it's the same version number) and install, this issues should be gone.
