Hi,

I am looking for an affiliate tracker component for my Joomla site. I currently use EasySocial and Payplans to handle registrations/subscriptions etc. Can you tell me if AffiliateTracker works with the latest versions of PayPlans? Also, does it require installation of an e-commerce store i.e. Virtuemart in order to use it?

Does it have any plugins that work with Acymailing?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Mel

    hi

yes, it does with the latest version of PayPlans.

it does not require of an additional e-commerce (in your case, PayPlans "is" the e-commerce, in a way)

we don't have any plugins for AcyMailing at the moment, sorry.

Wow thanks for fast response and great to hear it works with Payplans!

May I ask what it actually does with PayPlans. I am basically looking for something that:

Provides me with a link I can give to other companies which they can add to their emails/marketing/website
Be able to associate it to a subscription or plan in PayPlans (identify somehow that it converted to a subscription)
Pay the company for as long as the user remains subscribed to their plan

Are those things achievable with Affiliate system?

yup, that's exactly what it does.
it will assign commisions for that company/user for every new conversion
when, whenever you want, you can pay your affiliates (the company) the money you owe them.

    Hi,

great news. Can you tell me if I need the Pro or Extended Pro version? I am not sure what multi-level affiliate does. If I started with pro could i upgrade to the extended soon after if I realised I needed it?

    Hi Germinal,

I chose the extended version in the end :)

I have set it up now and in the process of testing it. I have installed Payplans 4 plugin and set it up and also created the affiliate tracker menu link and set up the options as specified in the installation instructions. However, when I click on the Requesrt new affiliate account and link it just takes me to my Payplans subscription link.

I then created an affiliate account manually in the backend and copied the link into a browser and it just reverts to my home page. Do I need to take any additional steps to those mentioned in the installation? Do I need to install any other plugins i.e. Joomla users etc.?

    Kind regards

    Mel

    Hi Germinal,

can you explain how this should work with Payplans. I am a little confused. I tried creating a Marketing Material but when I log in as my test affiliate client it just takes me to a single Payplans subscription for one of my Payplan options. There is no code to copy for my emails atc. I have gone through all the instructions under your support documentation but cannot get it to work correctly. Any guidance/help would be most appreciated.

Ideally we just want to issue the code an affiliate needs to pop into their marketing material - we don't really want them registering on our site (we want to do that on their behalf so we only have affiliates we choose if that makes sense). Is this possible?

Also (and this happens on your demo also) If I switch between menu items in the administrator area there are long delays loading the new page.

    Kind regards

    Mel

    hi,

yes, you can register affiliates on behalf of them, and give them the link if you want.

when an affiliate link is used, it just takes you to the site's home page (that's normal), but the user will be tracked.
you can also append the "?atid=XXX" part at the end of any page on your website if you prefer it, that will track the user too.

You can create some marketing material that the affiliates can use, to copy/paste its code and use it on their website. When they're logged in, in their affiliate dashboard area they will see this marketing material section

    does that help?

    Hi Germinal,

    sorry for the delay responding.

Yes it does help. Thank you so much!

It looks brilliant - so glad I found it as is exactly what I need.

    One last question, with:

"you can also append the "?atid=XXX" part at the end of any page on your website if you prefer it, that will track the user too"

Where do we get the XXX from? Is that the affiliate's user id inside your component or joomla?

Also, is it possible to make the link go to a specific page (i.e. our PayPlans registration page which we call subscribe?)

    Kind regards

    hello,

yes, XXX is just every affiliate's id
the default link cannot be changed (that requires a bit of coding), as it will always point to the root of your site. but that's why you have the option to "manually" create other links to point anywhere you want..

    Thanks Germinal,

can I ask a final question. How do I turn off new Joomla registrations from automatically being assigned as an affiliate? We want ours to be by invite only but it is adding all new registrations to the accounts/pending which we don't want.

    Kind regards

this means you have a plugin installed, "new affiliate for new users" which you should disable.
