basically you need to simply "create new account" (in Affiliate Tracker backend), and associate the account with a user. that will make the link be availalble to that user, so he can use it everywhere. do you know what I mean?

I totally share the frustration of caesar's. Your guide appears to be missing the final step. Being a web developer with decent understanding of Joomla I'd really appreciate a hint on how do I create a page or menu item that I share with account contact and how can I quickly verify that Affiliate Tracker actually kicked in?

Is it possible - for simplicity/test purposes - to skip creating joomla users?

not sure to understand your question... you mean you want to create an affiliate account (link) but not link it to any joomla user?
you can just create the account (in the backend) and the link will be created, and you can use it for test purposes..

Exactly. I might decide to never let clients access their AT account page. I've managed to figure out atid query string param reading other posts (I still think it must have been mentioned in getting started), but how do I verify that AT actually tracked the visit?
