When I configure the JW Player plugin parameter 'show add to playlist button' to 'no', audio no longer works, I set it back to 'yes' and audio works again.
Germi, I am using streaming that you helped with.

I didn't want to use the playlist feature on this release (our release), so I didn't want the plus sign icon to show (and setting this parameter seemed like the intended way to handle this). This had me chasing my tail for awhile not understanding why audio suddenly stopped working.
