I've been looking at the code for about a day and I just can't seem to figure out what the heck is going wrong with the install.
Mozilla is perfect. Displays fine & plays fine.
IE (v6,v7,v8) doesn't display any JWplayer on any album, song, or otherwise. I know the player works because I've tried using just a simple tag (http://www.bakriges.com/jwplayertest.html)and the player pops up with the song and plays.
I get the typical "The player will show in this paragraph" line and no player.
I've searched this forum. I've tried installing several new JWplayer's and played the 'turn everything off' game. Even switched themes thinking it might be something within a RocketTheme setting but no dice...
the site is:
http://www.bakriges.com/
or direct link to a song:
http://www.bakriges.com/muscol/C/Chris-Bakriges/Transculturation/Nervous-Laughter-/-Northern-Soul.html
It's gotta be something pretty simple like the IE javascript not getting executed properly or something but I just can't seem to figure it out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

0I'm not seeing what you are :-/
Looked into the jwplayer.php as instructed but line 86 was just a line break and $addcomments wasn't located anywhere in the code.
RE-Downloaded the plugin from the download area thinking I might just have a screwy version but same results with that one.
Don't know if this helps or not, but the playlist functionality is broken as well (ie. the javascript:add_song_to_playlist(79,0,'s').
On a totally un-related note: Your playlist on the Right hand side column of your website here is showing an error of "no valid file types found in this playlist" -

0hello
no, its not an errorit is just that no songs have been added yet!
ok, about the player: yes, the code I told you is on the LAST VERSION of the player... which works ONLY for music collection 2.1!!
so the question here is clear... what version of Music Collection are you running?because I can see you purchased 1.5.1 about a year ago.. (thanks, by the way
... but.. you should upgrade to 2.1!!!!!!!!

0Yep. running 1.5 -- hence why I posted in the version 1.5 support forum :-)
Ok. So, on one hand, it would be really nice to just get what I already have working. On the other hand, if you can guarantee that it works by upgrading, that's money well spent and I'd be happy to fork over some more $ to get it working again. Returning customer discount? ;-)
Basically, I've set up the site as a favor to a musician. Non-profit work is rewarding but supporting sites into the future is becoming a pain as each version of IE brings new problems to my life! -

0hello!!!
first of all.. YOU DON'T NEED TO PAY A DIME FOR THE UPGRADE!!!
as a 1.5.1 customer, you have FREE access to all updates!!so don't worry about monye, it's FREE for you!!
I cannot garantee you 100% that it will work in IE... I mean... yes, my opinion, and for my experience, YES, it will work, that's why we programmed it... but I've seen so many freaky things with IE... that I'm never 100% confident to say everything will work in IE...
please, give it a try!(you'll find the update packages on our downloads section...

0Well that's the best news of the day!!!! Free= :-) :-) :-)
I actually solved my problem through trial and error...well actually less trials and more errors.
Turns out, my particular problem is related to IE and how it runs Javascript. Depending on how people set their individual security preferences depends on how many problems the site begins to have. This behavior isn't isolated to your scripts (totally an IE thing) but is something that the average person may or many-not know how to adjust; and or forget to and just think the site is broken.
Anyways; In short: the solution ended up being that as long as someone adds the site as a "Trusted Website", everything works. If they don't, scripts begin to stop functioning. -
