I want to make a module for in the sidebar similar to the album chronology. The module will show the artist picture with a small discography below it to easily navigate albums. Maybe it will also show the genre and links to buy their stuff from an affiliate partner like Amazon.

It could also be used to display a random artist or even similar/related artists.

Is it possible to create 1 module and load the current artist ID into it, so it will always display the correct discography?
