Songs server not working

hi guys

The Songs Server option does not seem to work. I put in the URL

For example, http://www.mysite.com/audio

My current site is something like http://www.mysite.com/new/

Rather than moving my audio folder to http://www.mysite.com/new/audio/ i would rather keep it in it's current location which is on the same server, but different root folder.

Please could you advise?

Thanks for the help so far. Great component.

but.. are you uploading your songs manually?

what is the parameter SONGS PATH?

have you tried: songs server: http://www.mysite.com
    (dont forget the http)
    and songs path: audio/

hmmmm but directory scan will not work if you don't have the songs in the root folder or beyond... right? does the scan folder work for you with that parameters?

Does the directory scan only works if the songs are on your server?

Because what I wanted to do (which is like scanning the files from an external server) does not seem possible, even though I am putting in the parameters into the songs server parameter...

All the songs will need to either be directly from a web source using a web url, or need to be within your webserver's file structure. This has been a gigantic problem for me as all my music is on my file server/media server. I can access mine via "\\\\music" or having it mapped as "m:\" Most web programs allow this, but unfortunately MC does not. I have all my music extremely well organized and I have a lot of it. I will not move it onto my live webserver both for security reasons, and because of what I would lose not having it be on my file server, aka higher security, higher redundancy, faster access times. The last thing I want is to have MC attempt to move it and ruin how its structured. I am a firm believer that web apps should read the files, not be able to move or modify them! After over 4 years of hardcore organizing and tagging, I don't want any app trying to mess with the files other than to read and play them!

So for now I use another web app to stream all my music for my own personal us, and I only use MC to display some artist info and a few small demo clips that I have available to the general public. :(

Hopefully germi will add this feature in the future.
