Hola Germi and co,

I'm wondering if it's possible to remove the download option for the native JW Player? See screenshot.

This Article 13 directive that will be passing through the EU in January has put the heebie jeebies up quite a few of my colleagues and associates. I think right now it's about damage control and trying to minimize the effect this will have on small businesses and content creation.

Not sure what's happening with the formatting of this reply.

1. Open jwplayer.php
2. Find the instance of video
3. Add
controls controlsList='nodownload'
between the signs '<>'

This will disable downloading of audio on the frontend.

Hello Mark, I noticed that issue on mine as well. There is a on/off slide button in the config area. Mine is set to off but it still shows and it still works. I have not had the chance to ask Germinal about it yet as my player does not work and we are trying to resolve that issue.

Germinal took some personal time off but he should be back sometime this coming week.

    Thanks for the response Glen.

I'm using Joomla 2.5 so I don't get the luxury of on/off sliders. I'm still using good old fashioned radio buttons!

You are welcome Mark, I have not heard from Germinal in a while now. The upload link will definitely have to be disabled as it makes the software not usable as most artists do not want to give their music away. I have upgraded the Music Collection in hopes of it working but it is not and it is not looking good. Since the last upgrade, I do not see any improvements in the software, unfortunately it is the opposite. I hope with some patience we can all work together to assist Germinal in getting these issues fixed.

    Hey Glen,

Germinal is a pretty good guy and everyone needs a break every now and then. I've got some free time now, I'm going to have a dig around in the code and see what I can find. I'll keep you posted.

yes, I know and he has a lot on his plate, I tell myself to try to be patient...lol

Regarding the fix, glad you fixed it, perhaps he can fix mine as well when he gets back as it is stuck on no matter what I do. The proble we are having is that the player does not work at all. Germinal thinks that it is either the menu or the Template and I am starting to think it is the K2 component as that is the newest addition to the site and the player had worked before with the menu and the template. It is a JS error that is making it not work.
