you have this problem because you have the PHP avariable SHORT OPEN TAGS set to OFF, and it needs to be setted to ON

so all you have to do is active this php configuration variable (this is said on the installation instructions... you should read them!!!)

this is a PHP variable (has nothing to do with Joomla)

this variable can be setted to ON on php configuration file, called php.ini

to check the value of that variable, you can go to

help -> system info -> php settings

(on joomla backend)

and look at the value of "Short Open Tags"

ok after some scratching of head i got the
(Short Open Tags) on my local server and changed it to on.. but i wonder how i'm gonna do that online since its a php.ini file and i dont have acces to that file..

next thing in local (the only place i can test for now)

dont worry

first of all, usually you always have access to a php.ini file, even if the server is not yours. usually it is enough to place a php.ini file on the root of the file and the server reads it automaticly

second: all this "errors" you get are not errors, but notices. the thing is that you have setted that all the notices warnings and errors show up (not recommended). taths also a php parameter, dont remember wich exactly.

also, to start testing, turn Joomla SEF OFF, wich you have enabled.

and be sure to be running PHP 5 !!

and when i click on the player to hear the sound nothing happens ... i hear no sound it doesnt even play ..

i have the music in the songs folder in a subfolder for each album

look at the mysql query: the artist ID is empty

where exactl are you getting this?

to enter music collection, you should create an item menu pointing to "Music COllection -> Artists", and from them you can navigate through the collection

to start, disable the SEF

and second: you have created the albums, but the songs?

also, look up your code and see what file is trying to reach the player.

have you touched any parameter on the player? like "songs server" (this should be EMPTY)

MC works out of the box, so probably if you have thinks not working is because you tryied to manipulate some parameters that you shouldnt

Ok ok i'm back

fixed the music.. seemed to have a probleme in the mp3 compression.. so now i hear it .. ( don't get mad over me ):laugh:

i never touch the code, only if im told to do so and step by step as u explained so well..

now i ask the place were i am supposed to put the website on line if the php.ini could be modified and they said no.. so how can i do to make it work as it does in local .. is there an other way to bypass the php.ini file

next thing as u see i'm not english .. is there a language translation for french or if not what file do i have to modify to make it speak french ..

we dont have French right now but it will be very easy for you to translate it

all you have to do is download any of these pacakges http://www.joomlamusicsolutions.com/downloads/cat_view/39-languages.html?lang=en (english for examaple), open the file with a plain text editor and translate every sentence. then save the file on the language folder of your joomla installation, with the correct name (that means, with the correct prefix, wich will be fr-FR for french I think, inside the folder language/fr-FR/)

I pretty sure you should have a way to edit the php.ini file of your public site. in mine, it works to just put a php.ini file on the root of the site, and the server reads it automaticly

was just finishing to translate when i got your message now my frontend and backend are in french ( better so )

for the php.ini i'm gonna try as u said .. i'm gonna upload the php.ini i used in the local website online to see if the component works well ...

when i uploaded the php.ini file to the root of my website nothing happened i still get the notices so i checked the help and php section and i found that is was reading the php.ini from there..(/usr/local/lib/php5/php.ini) how can i make it read from the root of my website since the people dont want to give me acces to the php file
