Strange things...
I've deleted ADDED_ALBUM="added album" from english file
then I added ADDED_ALBUM="добавил(а) новый альбом"
and activity stream displays



then I translated ADDED_ALBUM= right in english file - now it displays correct, but this is not normal, this is a bug...

I found problem - my admin panel was on english. I switched it on russian - and now "added album" displays on russian, but it is still an error.
Frontend should not depend on the admin language settings.

yes I see what you mean, but the thing is that the entry on JomSocial is not translated by the system, which means that the string has to be stored "already" translated. therefore, the language used is the language active in that moment (in the backend, as you say, you had English, to described the situation perfectly)

I understand this, that's why I check it every time after I add new album.
The fact remains ...
