Integration with AkeebaSubs

Hello Germi,

Been registered with you and your great extensions for almost 5 years. They are fantastic.:D

I've just purchased Affiliate Tracker on J!2.5 for integration with Akeeba Subs and have a couple of quick questions.

1) I've installed all the necessary plugins, will it work out of the box? So if a user clicks a referral link and subscribes with Akeeba Subs, will it log everything?

2) Kinda complicated this one. I'm using the very simple built-in affiliation tool in Akeeba Subs and I'm also using your Music Collection extension (which I have also purchased) for a download site. Is there a way to log in Affiliate Tracker every time a guest or user clicks on the "Download" button in Music Collection and then follows through with a subscription in Akeeba Subs? So, say I set a specific user up to only receive 45% commission when a user subscribes from his track or specific album.

3) The "Joomla Users" plugin - does it need to be installed to work with Akeeba Subs?

Thanks for any feedback.

    Hello Mark,

Great to you see you back!

    1. yes, that's the idea :)

    2. hmm.. well that would definitely requires some custom coding. if I understand correctly, you're not talking only about tracking the subscription in AkeebaSubs, but also tracking the DOWNLOAD button click in MC?

    3. technically it is not mandatory, but YES, its recommendable. this plugin works great for a couple specific cases, so I would suggest you to install it, yes.

    Hey Germi!

    1) Hehe excuse me for that simple question. I needed it up and running pretty sharpish!:)

    2) That is correct but I think I figured out a way to do this. I added the "?atid=1" into a field inside an album on Music Collection and created a variable to call it in default.php. Then I edited it into the download link "echo 'http://www.example.com/register/'. $affid.'">

It kinda works and it's logging everything. I wonder if it works if a user browses to a different page and THEN comes back to subscribe with Akeeba Subs? Also, I take it Affiliate Tracker only tracks the IP of the same user once per day?

    3) Do you mind elaborating on which cases that plugin works with?

Thanks again Germi! Great extensions, they're the life of my site! :D

    hello,

    2. it will track the user even if he leaves the page and comes back later without using the link, because the cookie is already in his browser. it only tracks the same user ONE time.

    3. well, it's a bit technical to explain. in theory you should NOT need it. try it without it. but if you see that subscriptions do not get stored, it could be related to "the user not being registered at the moment of purchase". if that's your case, then is when the use of the plugin can help, because it will track the user being registered and this information will be afterwards used for Affiliate Tracker.

    3. I did notice that. Without using the plugin only 1 recent subscription has shown up even though I've had several.

Will every subscription show up in Affiliate Tracker even if a customer does not use a referral link?

I'll try enabling the plugin and see if that helps me track conversions.

So far, I have to thank you for making this extension. It's opened up a whole new area of my site and I'm able to actually give staff members a VISIBLE conversion and traffic chart. It's great, Lot of good feedback. :)

no, only those made by users using a referral link will get tracked as "conversions"

I'm very happy that the extension is useful for your website!! :)
